After Ashitaka develops a deadly virus, he travels the forests in search of a cure and becomes entangled in the bitter battles of the people that he meets. Princess Mononoke, a young woman raised by wolves, leads the animal gods in an attempt to drive away humans who are destroying and polluting their forest.
